Former South African president Nelson Mandela has died in his Johannesburg home. He was 95 years old. He had been very ill, and had spent most of the year in and out of the hospital. He was supposed to meet with President Obama this past summer, but his illness prevented the meeting.

Back in June 2013, Harrison Okene, a 29-year old man who spent three days trapped in an air pocket of a sunken ship, was discovered by divers, turning a search for dead bodies into an incredible rescue operation. Okene was aboard a tugboat off the coast of Nigeria with 11 colleagues, when suddenly the boat capsized and began to rapidly sink.

People apparently go from being thankful one day, to extremely selfish the next day. This year's Black Friday in the United States has once again led to violence, with trampling, shootings, stabbings and police officers having to be called to scores of store locations. Unfortunately, most of the violence appears to be happening at Walmarts.

Craig Cobb, a white supremacist who hast built an all-white racist hub in North Dakota, was recently told by host Trisha Goddard on an episode of NBC's “The Trisha Show” that he has sub-Saharan African blood in his DNA. Via an official DNA test, Goddard revealed to Cobb his results indicated his genetic ancestry was 86% European and 14% sub-Saharan African.

27-year old actor Marcus T. Paulk, star of the 90's TV show "Moesha," has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking his girlfriend in the stomach. His girlfriend was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and now Paulk is facing up to four years in prison.

Last week, a local newspaper in Kenya reported that a Kenyan woman had flesh-eating worms living in her hair weave and burrowing into her skull. Reportedly, she was always suffering from severe headaches as a result.
Many critics of President Obama say that he isn't doing much to help African Americans, especially in the areas of home ownership and unemployment. Many say because of this, he is losing his popularity with Black people all over the country. So just how bad is black home ownership and unemployment?

In the past week, troubled singer Chris Brown was arrested (again) in DC for attacking a man outside his hotel, and also has reportedly checked into rehab with the goal of better controlling his emotions.
