26 People Shot in Chicago Over the Weekend
The gun violence continues in Chicago, as 4 people were shot dead and 22 people wounded over this past weekend. News reporters say that as one of the warmest days of spring arrived in Chicago, so did the violence, with multiple shootings in different parts of the city.
Amongst those shot and injured was a 17-year-old boy, but a 28-year old man was killed while walking near his home when a car pulled up and the passengers started shooting.
Another 19-year-old man was shot in the right leg, and yet another man, age unknown, was also shot in his leg. A 22-year old man walked to one hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand, a 17-year old was shot in his chest, and yet another man was discovered wounded after reports of gunfire, but he is in “stable” condition after being transported to the hospital.
Another man was shot by police after they began chasing him because he smelled of marijuana. Police say once they caught up with him, the man brandished a gun and was fatally wounded.
