Chris Kelly, of 90's Rap Duo Kris Kross, Dies

Chris Kelly of Kriss Kross Dies

34-year old Chris Kelly, half of the 90's rap duo Kris Kross, has died at an Atlanta hospital. A local investigator says he was pronounced dead around 5pm at the south campus of the Atlanta Medical Center on May 1, 2013. Authorities are unsure of Kelly's cause of death, and an autopsy has yet to be performed.

Kelly, known as "Mac Daddy," and Chris Smith, known as "Daddy Mac," were introduced to the music world in 1992 by music producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri after he discovered the pair in an Atlanta mall. The duo wore their clothes backwards as a gimmick, but they won over fans with their raps. Their biggest song was "Jump" - which instantly led to a multi-platinum album and global recognition.

The two most recently made an appearance and performed at the star-studded So So Def 20th Anniversary Concert in Atlanta. They were joined by Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, Bone Crusher, Jagged Edge and other prodigies of So So Def Records.

Here's are some early photos of the rap duo:
