29-year old actor Lee Thompson Young has died of what appears to be a self-inflicted gun wound. Young is best know for his role in the 1990's Disney series The Famous Jett Jackson. He also starred in the 2004 film Friday Night Lights, and had most recently been starring in the TNT crime drama Rizzoli & Isles.
Young's body was found at his North Hollywood, California home by police after he failed to show up for work on the set of Rizzoli & Isles. The Los Angeles Fire Department was summoned and pronounced him dead at the scene, she said.
His longtime manager, Jonathan Baruch, told reporters that he "tragically took his own life." He added, "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time."
Costars of the actor have come forward via Twitter to send their condolences to the Young's friends, family and loved ones.
